Weekend success is huge in our book, fun to check off a lot and hang out just the three of us the entire weekend!
We kicked off the weekend going to Truckaroo DC in SE dc for the food truck festival near the Nationals baseball stadium! There are at least 40 trucks so much to choose from and a ton of people! We invited my in laws for some of the fun, and to partake and indulge in all the eats ever! As my father in law said where else can you get: Grilled Cheese (from the Big Cheese Truck), BBQ (from the bbq bus truck), crab sammies (from the Crabby Truck), and ice cream (from the Goodies truck)! All of it was extremely delicious and I already know what I want to eat next time we go!
We ate so much friday night that we had to work it off by going to the farmers market in Silver spring and then quick shopping before more yard work! It was time for Day 4 of Ivy Destroying! Yes Yes we took down more and it is NEVER ENDING! We put a huge dent in the largest piece though and can’t wait for the yard debris to be picked up so we can fill our trash can again! We definitely can’t see the end of it, but we can tell we have made a huge dent in it!!!!!
I didn’t feel like we accomplished enough, so we started one more project that has been looming! Our upstairs bathroom is not up to code, no outlets, no shower, and along with that the light switch is outside and the air duct is not in the ceiling! YAY old house and cape cods! So we started the beginning stages of the bath remodel! So here we go and here are some preliminary photos to kind of see what we are doing! I promise a bigger post later when I know for sure the whole renovation is actually happening! We are waiting on some plumbing estimates and suggestions! So here we go! Biggest reno in the house since we moved in two years ago!
Dan thought after working our brains so hard we should eat dinner (ate dinner out of our delicious finds at the market), and then some dessert! We bought Limonchello when we were in Naples and had not tried it yet! After consulting my mother and sister we attempted our first apertif as my sister called it! Well you can see how we liked it in the photos!
Sunday is always are relax day we try to stay home, spend lots of time with Dex man and grocery shop (my least favorite sunday activity)! Just like that we did all of this Sunday! We hiked 4 miles on Northwest Branch Trail, swimming and ball chasing with dexter, and lastly groceries and cooking for the week (zucchini bread, cheese its, ice cream, and pimento cheese spread)!
So with that I would say our weekend was quite the success! Hope you all had a great one, did you do anything fun? Do share!
