Wedding Planning | DIY Invitations

DIY (what was I thinking)  I was thinking sort-of!  I started off doing a lot of research in magazines (ie: Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides, Real Simple Wedding, Southern Weddings, etc.) , stores, paper websites, and Pinterest.  I wanted to do some true research on cost effective ideas, if this was feasible, and if I could do it.  I started just “pining” images on Pinterest, tearing out magazines, and praying!  I knew I was too much of a control freak in the design world to let this be in the hands of someone else. I also knew I could not afford to have the people I wanted to, and trust to do this for me, so I thought why not lets dive in head first.  DIY wedding invitations can’t be that bad, right?, maybe it will be something I love!  Now I had to get the Mother of the Bride on board, and the maid of honor (who is my sister) then I would be set!  I knew I could sway the groom either way, I knew he would be highly thankful for me using my design skills to drive this wedding!  So I started with my design boards, dreams, ideas, and started tinkering! With many ideas rumbling around in my head I had to get them on the computer before I changed my mind once more!  Being a photographer and photographing invitations before, I had that in mind already so they had to be perfect, and of course photographic!  So with many rounds of emails back and forth with the Mom and sister we are finally at the proofing stage (enter freak out scared here). I can not believe it is almost the end of January and we are sending off the proofs for the Wedding Invitation!  YIKES/Excited!  I do not want to give away any of the gorgeousness, but promise to once they are sent out!  For now here is my inspiration board for the invitations, as I press send to get proofs made with crossed fingers!

stand by for more planning soon!
