ThrowBack Thursday to two weeks ago, and my mom’s birthday. Dan and I drove home to enjoy a country time Memorial day, and leave the pups for the month of June. We enjoyed memorial day chilling on the back porch eating at the local Ice Cream Joint Comfy Cow, hung out with my best friend and her family, and travelled to Indianapolis for the day, and ate on amazing Food tour given by my lovely sister Liz, and her amazing boyfriend’s homemade guacamole. The whole point of this throwback is that we forgot to wish/celebrate my mom’s birthday while we were there, and I forgot to post about her birthday on the BLOG! So I am just going to say that we celebrated without thinking about it. It was so GLORIOUS to be home for 4 days, watching the pups enjoying the endless backyard, the gated porch, the many wood floors to slide and wrestle on, and even travel up to Indy on race day (the Indy 500 that is). We had so many hours of family time, that I think we celebrated her birthday quite nicely even though it was a day early!
Mom you are amazing and wonderful and amazing! You love our two dogs unconditionally with their sharp puppy teeth, neediness, and excitement we couldn’t ask for anything else. You have taught me as much as you can, and have helped Liz and I grow into amazing women, and hopefully one day I will be half the mom that you have been to me! For now, enjoy those two pups, or ship them back to us whichever ;) We all love you and can’t wait to spend another long weekend with you all! Happy belated, and before anyone thinks that I forgot before now, we had a facetime date on her birthday :) I love you mom, We love you! HUGS!!!! and seriously thanks for hanging out with the pups, taking them hiking letting them pile on you, and just sitting outside with them while they enjoy all the country smells!
For now here are some photos from our weekend home, and the pups loving on my parents!
Have to start with this one of my mom and Finnagan’s attempt to wake her up! Thanks dad for grabbing it, total classic of my needy dogs :) Finnagan thought bubble: “Hey, your sleeping, so what I would like some pets please”
Now back to our weekend home! Oh the car ride with 2 human adults two dogs and a mustang for 10 hours! #headedwest
My Sister is on the right with my dad! She was our Tour guide for the food tour with Taste of Indy Food Tours! We ate delicious food at Bakersfield (delicious tacos), The Rathskeller (so much delicious German food and big beers!), Ralstons (amazing flatbreads), and finishing with Flying Cupcake (holy red velvet cupcakes).
This fascinating grate in a random ally, smells like roses! It’s True I promise.
Now the pups are at my parents house for the month of June and you can see they are fitting in quite nicely, hiking, cuddling, and taking over laps just like normal!
