JCrew Wedding Dress | My Wedding | Louisville KY

My Wedding was almost 9 months ago, holy cow it seems like it was yesterday! I kept a lot of my wedding under wraps through out the process, and now that I have finally enjoyed my photos, remembered my day, and I think recovered from the planning I thought I might share some wedding fun for my readers!

The Dress, that is a good place to start right?!   JCrew is/will be my style whether I can afford their daily wears or not! So since it was my wedding day, we started at the JCrew outlet in Asheville, NC almost 2 years ago with a friend just playing, and looking for dresses! We found a gorgeous silk, extremely long with straps dress! Dad was on board for $120 he wanted to buy them all :)  So we walked out with the dress knowing that I still have 2 years to change my mind! As the dress sat in the closet and I pondered over whether or not it was the dress for me, mom and my MOH (lil sister), one bridesmaid (college roommate) decided to make an appointment at a boutique in DC for a fun day of trying on dresses!  Boy was it fun, kind of like Say Yes to the Dress, but without the pressure!  They were so nice and friendly for this New B dress shopper. Let’s be honest I really had no idea what I was looking for! I walked out of that day wanting LACE! The $120 JCrew dress we bought 4 months before had no LACE! So mom and I started getting creative and thought we will just have it re-made, easy right… NOT!

So mom made a trip to DC with the dress, we made appointments with dress re-makers, and thought in the meantime lets go back to JCREW in DC and try on wedding dresses again. I had looked quickly while in the car for what I might want to try on and first dress on the homepage had LACE!!!! WHATTTTTT could it be my dress of my DREAMS???? I had made a list of 5 dresses LACE first, and boom I tried it on and nothing else! It happened, mom was crying I was smiling and spinning. Dress bought! Decision made no turning back, and for the other dress, well it will be a nice formal evening dress when I need something to wear, it is still beautiful!

Dress purchased, now jump forward 5 or 6 months to thinking about accessories, and all the things to go with the dress! Over that time I created a Pinterest page of things that I love like and might wear!  It helped and was slightly overwhelming!

Shoes: I wanted were TOMS for my feet of course :) and LACE :)  Low and Behold thanks be to Jesus they had them in the right color!

Earrings: The easiest decision, they were my something borrowed from my grandmother (a gift from my uncle).

Necklace:  The hardest find! I wanted pearls but not the original single strand pearls. I needed something long or semi long that could be adjusted!  I found a lovely lady on Etsy to help me out and work with me on my necklace and the bridesmaids necklaces! I could not of been happier!

I will talk more about my hair later but in short, the veil borrowed from a friend, and flower clip from chicos.

In the end shopping for my dress, was not dramatic, and who would ever think I would say quite fun :) Would love to hear yours!
